The last Monday of each month join us for a variety of Japanese noodle dishes all year long. Large Parties recommended for these traditional family-style eats but all sizes are welcome to share in the comfort foods of Japan. We are back for our third year at Chicago Gourmet - the cream of the crop celebrating the culinary scene in Chicago! Arami's 5 year anniversary

Hanging from the Shinto shrines of Japan, EMA, or small wooden prayer plaques, are believed to pass along hopes and prayers to the spirits. They bear various pictures and written wishes, from sucess at work and school to martial bliss, children and health.

Another great year at Chicago Gourmet! Chef Nelson Vinansaca and Ajay Popli had a great time serving up Tako Aemono: poached Spanish Octopus, Japanese seaweed,  tobanjian vinaigrette, shiso, and pickled red onion. FLAVORS OF CHICAGO

AMERICAN LIVER FOUNDATION CHARITY EVENT

Arami's Chef Despres, and Chef Shin Matsuda of Ani had a wonderful time raising money with the American Liver Foundation for Flavors of Chicago: a charity event and culinary experience at the Bridgeport Art Center. We are happy to report that the American Liver Foundation raised $150,000 for the cause.

Flavors events raise critical funding to further the mission of the ALF Foundation—to facilitate, advocate, and promote education, support and research for the prevention, treatment, and cure of liver disease. ARAMI kicked of the Chicago Gourmet, presented by Bon Appétit, with an EBI AEMONO: marinated, grilled Gulf rock shrimp, Hawaiian hearts of palm, sweet corn, edamame, pickled celery, and an aromatic tomato vinaigrette. The perfect taste for the last warm days of September. We had a blast!

RICK BAYLESS // DESPRES POP UP

Hosted by Arami, this collaborative POP-UP event took inspiration from the street food culture of Japan and Mexico. In the tradition of street food, guests strolled through this collaborative event, tasting the marriage of two cuisines in which East meets South of the Border.

CHICAGO'S IN GOOD TASTE

A BREAST CANCER RESEARCH INITIATIVE

The Lynn Sage Foundation is a Chicago-based nonprofit that funds groundbreaking breast cancer research. For the limited month of October,  Arami dedicated a maki to Lynn Sage, inspired by the banner color of breast cancer awareness: pink. With the help from our guests who purchased the Lynn Sage maki, Arami managed to raise nearly $200 to donate to the cause. RAMENFEST

Our friends at URBANBELLY kicked off the cold weather with RAMENFEST 2014! With participants like Trenchermen's Patrick Sheerin, Thai Dang of Embeya, Yusho's Matthias Merges, Cosmo Goss of The Publican, GT fish & Oyster's Giuseppe Tentori, Erling Wu-Bower of Nico Osterio - as well our own Chef Frederick Despres of Arami and Shin Matsuda of Ani - this event hosted some of the most skilled talent in Chicago!
